1. No Character can start out with bankai unless your character is going for the open captain postitions and even then your app must be verey well thought out and descriptive.
2. Your Character must be at least a 3rd seat or Higher in your Divison, or a power equivalent to this. If you want to be a candidate, and not in an appropriate seat, contact staff, we’ll discuss this amongst ourselves, and see if you can qualify for the next step. If the reply is no, you can work harder to improve your character. But -please- do not argue with our decisions regarding this or any other step. This will permanently disqualify you from achieving Bankai all together.
3. To even attempt to achieve Bankai, you must remain an active member of Butterfly Soul for three months. You must also have a valid reason IC to achieve it. ‘I want to be the strongest’, Is not a valid enough reason. Your character is reaching into the deepest part of their soul, understanding them for all their good points and faults, harnessing what they find, and using it. So there has to be a good reason as to why you’d want to do this.
4. To attempt Bankai, a Shinigami must learn to summon the spirit of their zanpakuto. This too will be watched over by the staff. If we judge that the rp in which this happens is suitable, then by all means, go on to the next step. If not, the shinigami in question will wait another two weeks and try again. You then will only get one more chance at this. During this RP, nothing will be said of how you are progressing. Before the staff member makes the final post to conclude the thread, the RP will be judged by at least two members of staff. Only in the last post, will you know whether or not you can proceed to the next step. If both times your Zanpakutou denies working with you, (IE, you failed) you must wait another three months. At which time, you can contact staff, and we will decide if you can try again. If we decide you cannot, that is the end of the road for you. If yes, There is then Step 4.
5. The next step is then to go into a test of Bankai with your Zanpakutou’s spirit. Again, this will also be RPed out with a staff member. This will be a long thread, so expect this part to take a while. When this RP concludes, it will be judged again on a number of different merits by at least two members of staff. If you fail, this time you must wait three months before making a second and final attempt at Bankai. Should you fail again, that is all there is. There will be no further attempts, nor trying to appeal the decision with staff.
6. After this, you will design the powers of your Bankai. This will also be under the ‘Three Strikes’ rule that was in affect when you made your character originally. So be sure to think carefully, and take your time with this step. It would be a shame for you to get all this way, to then lose Bankai now. Any questions at this step are to be sent to staff via a PM.
7. There is a limit to how many OCs (Original Characters), can have Bankai. The limit to start will be Eighteen(13 for the different captains and 5 extra for anyone else who meet the criteria). Once this limit is reached, we’ll then asses how many active Shinigami we have. If we feel there is enough, we will increase the limit to 23 people. It will not be increased past this point, as it is established in canon how very rare Bankai is.
Well, now that you read this, and if you meet the basic requirements, Good luck!
